$100,000 found inside discarded TV in Barrie.
A $100,000 inheritance has been returned to its rightful owner thanks to the honesty of a worker in Barrie, and some detective work by police. Last month, an employee at Barrie’s GEEP e-waste recycling firm found a box of cash, and some banking records inside a TV which had been sitting in the yard for over a year waiting to be recycled. The company notified Barrie police who traced the records and have now returned the money to the 68 year old Bolsover man who lost it.
Police say it had been hidden in the TV a number of years ago and forgotten about.
The TV was given to a family friend, who eventually dropped it off for recycling,
