Champlain's Legacy Revealed this Week in Penetang
An unveiling at Penetanguishene’s Rotary Champlain Wendat Park this week, for the Official Closing of the 400th anniversary of French presence in Ontario.
The same artist who created “The Meeting” statue, Timothy Schmalz, will be in attendance to unveil 6 additional sculptures. Three provincial plaques will be also be unveiled.
• 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. – Youth and family programming, including hands-on activities, storytelling by TFO, Franco-Ontarian and Indigenous demonstrations and musical performances
• 10:30 a.m. – Unveiling of additional sculptures and we also have three provincial plaques to showcase and the opening of the Legacy Walkway. Event hosted by Catherine Lafrance, French CBC evening news anchor
• 12:30 p.m. – Free lunch!
