DNA leads to arrest, six years after robbery
DNA evidence has led to an arrest in an armed robbery that occurred nearly six years ago.
South Simcoe Police say back in November of 2011, a man wearing a balaclava held up a Country Style Donut store in Bradford at gunpoint. During the investigation, officers recovered fingerprints and DNA from the scene.
This year the sample was matched to an offender in the national DNA database – and officers confirmed the match through fingerprint evidence.
A 24-year-old Aurora man has been arrested and is facing charges. Police are still looking for a second person and the firearm that was used.
