Fatality on Barrie tracks delays GO Train
There has been a fatality on the GO Train line south of Barrie.
Just before 6:30 Monday morning, emergency crews were called out to the 7th Line of Innisfil near the 20th Sideroad. We have learned that a pedestrian was struck and killed by a train near the level crossing.
The road is not closed, but all Barrie GO Trains are being held and may be delayed by as long as three hours.
GO officials recommend commuters use the Richmond Hill Line or the TTC. A number of York Regional Busse and GO Transit buses are being used to shuttle people from the station to the TTC and an extra train will be leaving the Aurora Station. There is also regular service from the Bradford Station.
