If you are looking to celebrate the Victoria Day holiday weekend with some fireworks, you can choose to take in one of a few public displays in Simcoe-Muskoka or you can opt to host your own gathering.

Community Fireworks – sit back, relax and enjoy!

Port McNicoll

On Saturday, Port McNicoll (off Hwy 12 just east of Midland) will host Victoria Day fireworks display from Patterson Park. Admission is just $5 a carload. It’s part of the annual Portarama Family Festival that kicks off Thursday and continues through the holiday weekend. You can enjoy the Lion’s BBQ and Sunday morning Pancake Breakfast, youth dance, Parade on Saturday, Horsehoe Tournament, Soapbox Derby, Dog Show, and more. Click here for more Portarama Information.

Collingwood – Blue Mountain Village

They’ll be kicking off the summer with fireworks in Collingwood. They will light up the skies over Blue Mountain on Saturday night as part of the May long weekend events at Blue Mountain Village. There will be live music, kids entertainment, hiking, Rusty’s rib eating contest and more. All the details can be found here.

Vaughan – Canada’s Wonderland

And if you are up for a bit of a Sunday drive, Canada’s Wonderland will host a Victoria Day fireworks display at 10pm. The display includes more than 6,000 explosions choreographed to an orignal sound track! More details are available at the Canada’s Wonderland website.

DIY Fireworks – put on a show for a great cause!

If you choose to light up the skies yourself – here’s some places to pick up quality fireworks, with proceeds going to community organizations.

If your organization is selling fireworks for a good cause – please send us a tweet or Facebook message and we will add you to our list.

From all of us here at KICX 106, we hope you have a safe and healthy Victoria Day long weekend!
