First EP for James Barker Band
Written By: Friday, April 21st 2017

Today (April 21/17) is a big and very exciting day for The James Barker Band.

The band drops their first EP, Game On, via Universal Music Canada.  James Barker found an immediate chemistry with writers Gavin Slate, Travis Wood, Todd Clark, and Donovan Woods with who he wrote the majority of the songs for the EP.  On this EP they lay bare questions of love, life, and responsibility – and ask of their fans to be equally uncompromising on this journey.

KICX 106 North of Nashville Star winner James Barker formed the band in 2013, and consists of James Barker, Taylor Abram, Bobby Martin, and Connor Stephen. As winners of the 2015 Boots and Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase, they secured an album release with Universal Music Canada and won an all-inclusive trip to Nashville, Tennessee. The band have had a busy year, with their first two singles, “Lawn Chair Lazy” and “Just Saying”. Both tracks debuted in the top 10 at Canadian Country radio, with “Lawn Chair Lazy” securing the guys the title of the highest charting debut single ever from a Canadian country artist.  Their latest release Chills is climbing the charts and looks clearly to be another huge hit for the band.
