Who do you know that represents a Hometown Hero? Tell us your Hometown Heroe and if possible send us a picture too! Jack and Carey will feature someone every Friday.
This week's Hero Jane Ramage
Jane Ramage a local nurse who lives in Oro-Medonte, was in Afghanistan last year from June 3 to Sept. 15, working in the intensive care unit of a hospital. Now she is being recognized by the military for her service in Afghanistan.
She will receive an award known as the General Service Medal for the second time. Her first service assignement and recognition was from her time in Afghanistan in early 2008.
In Jane's words "It's amazing to be recognized by my country for doing something that, for me, was an extraordinary opportunity. The Canadian military is absolutely amazing. I feel like I should be thanking them for giving me the opportunity to do it."
Jane Ramage will receive her award on Sept. 13th at CFB Borden.
Great Work Jane!
