(TOWN OF NEW TECUMSETH) – On Thursday February 23, 2017, at approximately 7:52 p.m., the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break and enter that had occurred at Stevenson Memorial Hospital in Alliston.
Just before 7:00 p.m., a hospital security officer was conducting patrols on the lower level of the hospital when they located an insecure door to the auxiliary room and located a male inside. He spoke to the security officer briefly, stating he was an auxiliary member and then left, continuing down the hallway and exiting through a staircase in an unknown direction.
After the male left, the security officer observed the door to the auxiliary room to be damaged and missing the locking mechanism. There was no indication that anything was missing. Through further investigation, the door to the mechanical room located inside the hospital was also damaged, but no entry was gained.

It was determined through video surveillance that the suspect had actually broken into the business on the previous day, February 23 at approximately 5:40 p.m.
The suspect gained entry into the office through the reception window and also gained entry into the manager’s and administrators offices. There was an undetermined amount of cash taken and the doors to the manager and administrators offices were damaged.
