This is Prostate Cancer Awareness Week. Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of death for men.
As a prostate cancer survior myself, I encourage all men over 40, to quit putting off a check-up. Seriously early detection is what it’s all about.
I’m now into year 3 of being cancer free and in fact yesterday I had my regular six month check-up since that surgery. I got great news from my specialist who basically said get out of here, I don’t want to see you for another six months. What a great feeling to hear those words, since my previous two check-ups had him worried.
Men you need to have a regular check-up because I hear too many stories about men who have left it too late and are/were not as fortunate as I am. I’m so thankful that my cancer was detected at an early check-up point.
Take the time now to learn more about prostate cancer here. Then, book your appointment. And for women, encourage your man to do it. Too many men just don’t book a doctor’s appointment without a little encouragement.
