Slower Internet Speed For Some
If you download music or videos that you shouldn’t download without paying for them, you might receive a warning from a new Alert System.
Starting this week Copyright Alert System (CAS) through several Internet service providers (ISPs) will start an anti-piracy program. Currently the providers are all from the U.S., but depending how you’re connected to the internet, you might be faced with problems if you ignore the warning.
If repeated notifications are sent to violators, providers will slow down the internet speed for that address.
CAS has created a promotional video to explain what will happen to individuals if they continually to ignore warnings. (See video here.)
