Carmen Agius came to me with her idea seven years ago to start a non-profit organization to raise money to assist Orillia area families faced with added expenses while battling cancer.  She asked me if I would model a bra.  What?

Now through the efforts of the Rotary Club of Orillia and organizers who have kept the idea alive, November is now known as Bravember with fund raising events throughout the month.

To launch Bravember excitement this year organizer Luisa Cirimele asked me to do a Ta Ta time at Hawk Ridge Golf and Country Club with golf pro Todd Keirsteadt (Golf With Attitude) hitting a golf ball off my chest.  What???  Todd is an amazing and caring man who has help raise millions to assist others with his crazy golf shots and what better way to kick off Bravember than have him take a tee off my ta tas.  Bob Brown and the gang at Thor Motors were the first to step forward and kick in $1,000 if I would do it, so needless to say, the rest is history.

All I can say is it was lucky Todd was teeing off on my chest and not the other way around or Todd might be in the hospital for the start of Bravember.

To raise funds this month and you will see decorated bras on display at area businesses.  The 7th Annual Show Your Support Orillia Bras for a Cause – Fundraising Contest with the Rotary Club.  Each bra designer (or team) have found a sponsor and a place to display their bra. The public votes for their favourite creation.

A big night of entertainment is planned.  Lots of entertainment, like men in bras and many games to play and prizes to win at the Bravemeber Dinner & Dance Saturday, November 5th, 2016 at 6:00pm at Hawk Ridge Golf & Country. Get tickets here.
